Tips for Installing Android Apps

In addition to the Android Market, there are many other ways to install apps onto your Android device. These include:

3rd Party App Stores: There are many third party app stores out there where you can find many different Android apps. In order to install these apps, you must first allow your phone to download apps from sources other than the Android market. Doing so is very simple:

From your homescreen, simply press MenuSettings→Applications, then check the box that says "Unknown Sources."

Amazon App Store: Okay, so this is technically still a 3rd party app store, but it's very special. Why you may ask? Every day, Amazon offers a new paid app for free! That's right, every single day a new paid app is offered for free! There is no download limit, so a new paid app for free everyday sounds awesome to me! Directly from the Developer:  Some developers opt to circulate their apps themselves instead of submitting them to an app market. Usually in this case, developers will offer the .apk file of their app directly on their website. From there, you simply drag the app onto your phones SD card and use a file manager to locate and install the app. Alternatively, you can download the app directly from your Android phone's mobile browser and install it without a computer.
